Grove City 4th at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team competed in the Penn State University Spiked Shoe Invitational Friday evening at the Blue-White Golf Course. The Wolverines participated in the Division II-III portion of the event and placed fourth with 109 team points.

Cortland State won the team title with 28 points, followed by Johns Hopkins with 48. Geneseo State placed third with 56 points.

Senior Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) led Grove City by taking 13th overall in 27 minutes, 14 seconds.

Freshman Dan Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) earned 53rd in 28:37 while senior Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) finished 54th in 28:41. Senior Matt Mucha (Parma, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) placed 60th (29:13) and freshman Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) took 65th with a 29:36 clocking.

Johns Hopkins senior Max Robinson won the individual race with a time of 26:17.

Grove City returns to action next Saturday, September 21 by competing in the University of Buffalo Invitational.
