Grove City competes at Buffalo

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team competed in the University of Buffalo's UB Stampede Saturday afternoon. The Wolverines competed against NCAA Division I foes Binghamton, Buffalo, Colgate and Niagara in the five-team event.

Senior Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) led Grove City by finishing 17th overall. McRae recorded a time of 27 minutes, 9 seconds.

Senior Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) earned 40th place in 28:28 while freshman Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) placed 43rd in 28:46. Senior Matt Mucha (Parma, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) came in 44th (28:48) and freshman Gabe Imhof (Strasburg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) took 49th in 28:59.

Senior Matt Logie (West Chester, Pa./Delaware County Christian) finished 51st in 29:15 and freshman Devon Powley (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencer) placed 55th in 29:56.

Buffalo's Zachary Ahart won the individual race in 25:44.

Grove City will compete in the Chatham Invitational next Saturday in Gibsonia, Pa.
