Grove City takes 4th at Chatham

GIBSONIA, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed fourth out of 10 teams Saturday at the Chatham University Invitational, held at Chatham's Eden Hall Campus. The Wolverines accumulated 91 team points in the event. Waynesburg won the team title with 24 team points, followed by Westminster (48) and Franciscan (81).

Senior Matt Mucha (Parma, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) led the Wolverines by placing 11th overall in a time of 32 minutes, 11.9 seconds. Senior Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) finished 15th in 32:24.3, one spot ahead of freshman Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City). Wise took 16th in 32:27.3.

Freshman Dan Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) finished 24th (32:47.1), one place ahead of senior Matt Logie (West Chester, Pa./Delaware County Christian), who finished 25th in a time of 32:47.6.

Senior Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) earned 27th place (32:52.9) and freshman Andrew Mascio (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) claimed 31st in 33:31.9.

Waynesburg's Benjamin McAuley won the race in 30:23.1.

Grove City returns to action October 19 at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble.
