Grove City places 16th at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's cross country team took 16th out of 31 teams Saturday afternoon at Oberlin College's Inter-Regional Rumble. The Wolverines finished the meet with 470 team points. Perennial national power New York University won the team title with 55 team points and Geneseo State finished second with 93.

Senior Arleigh McRae (East Brookfield, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) led Grove City's effort by finishing 12th overall. McRae recorded a time of 25 minutes, 40.0 seconds for eight kilometers.

Freshman Dan Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) earned 91st with a time of 26:58.2 while senior Mark Talbott (Tallmadge, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) placed 114th in 27:14.3.

Senior Matt Mucha (Parma, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) finished 152nd (27:41.5) and senior Alec Schultz (Wayzata, Minn./Orono) took 159th with a time of 27:49.8. Freshman Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) took 175th (28:05.0) and senior Matt Logie (West Chester, Pa./Delaware County Christian) placed 185th with a 28:12.9 clocking.

Allegheny senior Bobby Over won the individual race with a time of 25:01.3.

Grove City returns to action November 2 when the Wolverines compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. Chatham University will host the event in Gibsonia, Pa.
