Wolverines compete at Dickinson Long-Short Invite
NEWVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team competed in the Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational on Saturday morning at Big Spring High School.
The Wolverines finished eighth out of 36 teams in the eight-kilometer long-course race while finishing 28th in the four-kilometer short-course race.
Senior Peter Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Broadfording Christian) led the Wolverine contingent in the long-course race by finishing 26th out of 233 runners with a time of 26:57.18.
Sophomore Daniel Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) finish just seven spots back in 33rd with a time of 27:10.38 while freshman Drew Thibault (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) also placed in the top-50 with a 50th-place time of 27:46.59.
Sophomore Brandon Wise completed the course in 28:26.74 to take 76th while freshman Travis Mattson finished 101st in 29:15.65.
Junior Joshua Dunsworth (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) led Grove City runners in the four-kilometer race with a time of 13:59.78.
Grove City has nearly a month away from competition before returning to action at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 18.
