Grove City men compete at Penn State Spiked Shoe

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Led by junior Daniel Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick), the Grove City College men's cross country team finished sixth in an NCAA Division I-filled field at the 5.2-mile Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational on Friday evening at the Penn State University Golf Courses.

Christiansen completed the course in a team-best time of 27:34 to finish 38th individually in a 68-runner field that including nationally-ranked Division I teams Syracuse, Michigan and Penn State and NCAA Division II power Lock Haven. Junior Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) was second among Wolverine finishers with a 46th-place time of 29:08 while sophomore Nick McClure (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and junior Gabe Imhof (Strasburg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) finished in 48th (29:24) and 49th (29:29), respectively.

Freshman Ryan Budnik (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) rounding out the Grove City scoring five with a 51st-place finish in a time of 29:36.

Grove City returns to on Saturday, September 19 at the Saint Vincent College Invitational in Latrobe.
