Grove City earns 3rd at Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed third out of 24 teams Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational. Grove City finished the event with 111 team points. Georgetown Running won the title with 52 points while Salisbury took second with 95 team points.

Two Grove City runners finished in the top 10. Junior Daniel Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick) placed third with a time of 25 minutes, 40.3 seconds for eight kilometers. That is the eighth-fastest eight-kilometer time in program history.

Sophomore Nick McClure (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) earned 10th place with a time of 26:18.8.

Freshman Ryan Budnik (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) finished 27th in 26:55.7 while junior Gabe Imhof (Strasburg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) earned 37th in 27:10.5. Junior Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) took 42nd in 27:23.5.

Senior Joshua Dunsworth (Erie, Pa./Strong Vincent) came home 53rd (27:40.3) while sophomore Thane Bonnett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Northgate) finished 60th in a time of 27:46.7.

Muhlenberg's Jaryd Flank won the race with a time of 25:29.7.

Saturday's meet served as Grove City's final tuneup for the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held October 31 in Latrobe, Pa.
