Wolverine men take third at PAC Championships

LATROBE, Pa. -- Led by a third-place finish from junior Daniel Christiansen (Frederick, Md./Frederick), the Grove City College men's cross country team placed third out of nine teams at the 2015 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon at Saint Vincent. Grove City accumulated 85 team points, trailing Saint Vincent's 40 and Washington & Jefferson's 71.

Christiansen completed the eight-kilometer course in 27 minutes, eight seconds to earn First Team All-PAC honors for the third year in a row.

Junior Brandon Wise (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) finished second on the team and 17th overall with a time of 28:23 while junior Gabe Imhof (Strasburg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) was 19th overall in 28:27. Both Wise and Imhof earned All-PAC Honorable Mention.

Sophomore Drew Thibault (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) ran a 28:33 to finish 23rd, and senior Joshua Dunsworth (Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy) rounded out the Grove City scoring five by finishing 28th in 29:02. Freshman Ryan Budnik (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) was 30th in 29:08 and freshman Aaron Bliss (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) finished in 29:14 to place 35th individually.

Saint Vincent's Brandan Moretton won the individual title and PAC Runner of the Year honors for the second-straight year with a victorious time of 26:58. Washington and Jefferson second-year head coach Dale Boring was named PAC Coach of the Year.

Grove City returns to action Friday night at the Wooster College Twilight 5K at 7 p.m.
