Wolverines Run Away With Title at Case

CLEVELAND, OH, September 4, 1999--Three Wolverines posted top-five times to lead Grove City to the championship title at the 10-school Case Western Reserve Invitational on Saturday.

Tim Sabella (Grand Valley, PA/Tidioute) placed second in the field of 134 runners with a time of 27:31, 36 seconds behind the champion.  Tim's younger brother John Sabella (Grand Valley, PA/Tidioute) took fourth overall in 27:44.  Ryan Mitchell (Centerville, OH/Centerville) made a big impression in his first collegiate race, placing fifth in 27:45.  Matt Streit (Wooster, OH/Wooster) crossed in seventh place at 27:51.

Louis Fogarty (Mechanicsburg, PA/Cedarcliff) and Brad Wray (Lewistown, PA/Indian Valley) helped the cause by placing 16th and 29th, respectively.   Fogarty finished in 28:29, Wray in 28:52.

The final team standings were: 1. Grove City (34), 2. Baldwin-Wallace (84), 3. Allegheny (104), 4. Mount Union (104), 5. CWRU (142), 6. Findley (148), 7. Carthage (173), 8. Muskingum (183), 9. John Carroll (185), 10. Bethany (incomplete).
