The Intramural (IM) Room has been serving the needs of Grove City College athletics and the campus community since 1954.

In addition to hosting intramural basketball and volleyball contests, the facility is also utilized by physical education classes and as an alternative practice site for all of Grove City's varsity teams.

Located in the Physical Learning Center (PLC), the IM Room was opened in September 1954 to replace the Gymnasium on Lower Campus. Originally, it consisted of two basketball courts which could be converted to two volleyball or two tennis courts.

In 1989, the IM Room was expanded to include an additional two basketball courts which could also be converted to two volleyball courts or two tennis courts. A movable wall was installed to enable the large space to be divided into two rooms if needed.

The expansion also included the addition of a suspended indoor track and a sand pit that can be used for long or triple jump or be configured for pole vault. The space also contains collapsable batting cages utilized by the varsity baseball and softball teams.

Each of the four courts have remotely-controlled electronic scoreboards on both ends, adding to the intramural experience for both participants and spectators.
