SEAN SEVERSON- Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Sean Severson is entering his 12th season as the assistant men's basketball coach at Grove City College.

As the top aide to hed coach Steve Lamie, Severson is heavily involved in opponent scouting, practice planning, player development and recruiting.

He has helped Grove City capture two Presidents' Athletic Conference titles and four postseason berths since coming to campus.

Severson joined the Grove City staff during the summer of 2004 after working as a graduate assistant at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado for two seasons.

While at Adams State, Severson worked as an assistant men's basketball coach as well as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

A native of Menomonee Falls, Wis., Severson earned a bachelor of arts degree in athletic training from the University of Minnesota-Morris in May 2002.

At Minnesota-Morris, Severson captained the basketball team and earned Academic All-Conference recognition from the Northern Sun Conference three times. He also earned Dean's List honors at Minnesota-Morris.

Severson earned his master's degree in health, physical education and recreation in 2004 from Adams State.

He is also the head cross country coach and an assistant professor of physical education at Grove City. Grove City's women's cross country team has won Presidents' Athletic Conference titles in each of his ten seasons as coach.

The women's team earned its first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships in fall of 2010 and finished fifth at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in 2011. Severson earned the PAC's women's cross country Coach of the Year award in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2012.

Grove City's men have won six cross country crowns during Severson's tenure.

A Grove City runner has qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in seven of his 10 seasons at the helm, including two-time All-American Elisa Pedersen and 2007 All-American Kristen Carter.

Severson lives in Grove City with his wife, Tara, and their five daughters.
