Moment 3: Volleyball rallies from 2-0 deficit to defeat Saint Vincent

Our next “13-14 Rewind: Moment of the Year” looks back at Wolverine Volleyball's October 12 home match against Saint Vincent. The match was the third and final round of a tri-match with Washington and Jefferson, with both Grove City and Saint Vincent dismissing the Presidents earlier in the day.

The Bearcats earned a 25-18 win in the first set and seemed poised to roll to victory after a sound 25-12 victory in the second set. Trailing for much of the third set, the Wolverines rallied for a 26-24 triumph to extend the match before defeating the Bearcats 25-20 to force a decisive final frame. Though both teams battled mightily, it was Grove City who would come out on top with a narrow 17-15 fifth-set win that would prove crucial in the final conference standings.

Senior middle hitter Ashley Branch led the Wolverine attack with 14 kills while senior libero Tara Skinner anchored the defense with an impressive 31 digs to limit the Bearcat offensive.
