2013-14 Rewind: Top Moments in Wolverine Athletics

Moment 4: Reese scores twice to lift men's soccer to OT win over Geneva

Today's “13-14 Rewind: Moment of the Year” looks back at the Grove City College men's soccer team's October 16th matchup with Presidents' Athletic Conference-rival Geneva.

After battling to a scoreless draw during both meetings in the 2012 season, including the PAC semifinals, the 2013 regular season matchup started much the same way, as the two teams found themselves tied 0-0 at halftime, despite a commanding 12-4 Wolverine advantage in total shots.

It was the Golden Tornadoes who broke the deadlock in the 50th minute on a Nate Musselman goal, but Grove City netted the equalizer in the 75th minute when sophomore Seth Loew crossed a ball to freshman Dale Reese for the game-tying goal.

In the overtime, the Golden Tornadoes were called for a costly caution on a tackle just outside the box in the 98th minute to set up the game's final play. Loew blasted the ensuing free kick off the Geneva defensive wall, and Reese scooped the rebound and sent it home for his fifth goal and second game-winner of the year. The victory was the first for Grove City over Geneva since 2010 and marked the first time that the Wolverines scored multiple goals against the Golden Tornadoes since 2008.
