2013-14 Rewind: Top Moments in Wolverine Athletics

Moment 6: Rabenold wins MVP as Women's Cross Country rolls to 25th-consecutive PAC Title

Our next “13-14 Rewind: Moment of the Year” moves us into the month of November as the Grove City College women's cross country team looked to maintain its stronghold on the Presidents' Athletic Conference at the 2013 conference championships in Pittsburgh on November 2.

After graduating ten seniors, including the top five runners from the 2012 PAC title team, the Wolverines, while still picked to win, were not the overwhelming favorite as they had been in many years past. However, encouraged by Coach Sean Severson to put it all together for one day, the Wolverines did exactly that, going 16-for-16 in career-best times and placing 10 runners in the top 25 to cruise to the program's 25th-consecutive conference crown with a mere 33 team points.

Sophomore standout Emily Rabenold ran an impressive 21:45.60 -- then the fifth-best time in school history -- to win the race by more than a minute and earn conference MVP honors, making her the first Grove City runner to do so since 2009.

Sophomore Stevie Huston (4th) and senior Laurel Skorup (7th) joined Rabenold on the All-PAC First Team while sophomore Lydia Hogan (9th), junior Kara Cremean (12th) and senior Austin Powell (13th) were Second Team honorees and junior Caroline Kimpel (17th) earned Honorable Mention status.
