2013-14 Rewind: Top Moments in Wolverine Athletics

Moment 24: Lowe, Rabenold, women's relays break records at ECACs

Following their sweep of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, the Grove City College men's and women's track and field teams headed into the Eastern College Athletic Conference DIII Championships with a great deal of momentum.

That momentum would be evident, as the Wolverine women collectively set new school records in four events.

Sophomore Eliza Lowe was the first to see a record fall, as she put up a blazing 14.35 second time in the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims on Thursday night to break her own school record in the event. Sophomore Emily Rabenold would continue her strong sophomore season by knocking 12 seconds off her own school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase to finish second with a time of 10:51.03.

For both Lowe and Rabenold, those would be the very times that would earn them invitations to the NCAA Division III National Championships the following week.

In addition, the women's 4x100-meter relay of Lowe, sophomore Allison Blain, and freshmen Sarah Williamson and Kate Hussey would set a new school record of 49.44 seconds while the 4x400-meter relay squad of Lowe, Blain, Williamson and freshman Lauren Pearce would post a school-record time of 3:59.45.
