Lady Wolverine season ends at PAC tourney First Game Box Second Game Box BETHANY, WV, April 28, 2000--The Grove City College women's softball team bowed out of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament Friday, falling to Waynesburg, 3-0, and Washington & Jefferson, 8-4, in the double-elimination championship, held at Bethany College in Bethany, WV. Laura LeVake (Faribault, MN/Faribault) threw a complete-game four-hitter in the Waynesburg loss, striking out four and allowing three unearned runs. Nari Berarducci (Lake City, PA/Girard) collected two singles as the Lady Wolverines out-hit the Yellow Jackets, 7-4. Grove City rallied from a 3-1deficit against W&J with a three-run sixth, but the Presidents recovered with five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Kim Hanson (Olympia, WA/Timberline), Ellie Smith (Grove City, PA/Grove City), Megan Wittenwyler (Des Moines, IA/Dowling) and Rachel Russell (Shelbina, MO/South Shelby) each had two hits on the day. |
