March 24, 1999--Sue Jankowski (Benton, PA/Benton) collected five hits in six at-bats, including a two-out game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh to give Grove City (1-1) a split against visiting Hiram (4-10) in the season opener.

Jankowski singled home Heather Oates (Delavan, IL/Delavan), who reached third base after driving in the tying run.  Jankowski finished the day with two doubles and five singles.

Laura LeVake (Faribault, MN/Faribault), who pitched well in the 3-2 loss, recorded her first collegiate victory in relief in game two.

Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) went 4-for-7 on the day with two runs scored and two stolen bases.
