Lady Wolverines drop pair at Case

CLEVELAND, OH, April 25, 2001--The Grove City College softball team (6-12) managed just five singles in 5-1 and 8-0 losses to host Case Western Reserve University on Wednesday.

Senior OF Megan Wittenwyler (Des Moines, IA/Dowling) accounted for two hits, while sophomore C Jayne Mincey (Grove City, PA/Grove City), freshman SS Sheila Mattes (Concord, NC/First Assembly) and freshman OF Leigh LeGare (Copperas Cove, TX/Copperas Cove) added a safety each.

Junior Laura LeVake (Faribault, MN/Faribault) allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits and struck out two in Game One.  

Freshman Molly Forney (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) surrendered eight runs (only one earned) on 11 hits and fanned three in the nightcap, which was called in the sixth inning (eight-run rule).  The Lady Wolverines committed three errors in the Lady Spartans' four-run fourth frame and two miscues in a three-run sixth.
