April 12, 1999--The Grove City College softball team (8-4) extended its winning streak to five games with an 11-1, 8-5 sweep over visiting Point Park College (7-8).

The Lady Wolverines used a four-run first and six-run fourth to win the first game in five innings. Heather Oates (Delavan, IL/Delavan) collected three hits and Heather Johnson (Wadsworth, OH/Wadsworth) and Michelle Maegle (Pittsburgh, PA/Carrick) added two hits each.  Laura LeVake (Faribault, MN/Faribault) surrendered just two hits and one run (unearned) while striking out 10 to improve to 5-3 on the year.

Johnson and Adrienne Pauling (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) had a pair of hits in the nightcap, while Lisa Colletti (Richboro, PA/Council Rock) upped her record to 3-1 with the complete-game victory, scattering eight hits and striking out one.

After a 1-3 start, the Lady Wolverines have won seven of their last eight games.
