April 20, 1999--
The Grove City College softball team (10-6, 5-3 PAC) banged out a season-high 21 hits in a 14-2 rout over visiting Washington & Jefferson College (8-10, 4-4 PAC) to earn a split in the Presidents' Athletic Conference twin bill.

Every Lady Wolverine that stepped to the plate in the nightcap collected multiple hits, led by the three-hit efforts of Nicole Hable (Shoreview, MN/Totino-Grace), Megan Wittenwyler (Des Moines, IA/Dowling), and Leslie Eberlin (Harbor Creek, PA/Harbor Creek).   Laura LeVake (Faribault, MN/Faribault) got the win (7-5), scattering eight hits in seven complete innings of work.  LeVake doubled and tripled to help her cause, accounting for two of the Lady Wolverines' six extra-base hits.

Grove City broke open a 1-1 tie with six runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and six in the seventh (W&J was designated the home team).

In the first game, W&J rallied from a 3-2 deficit with two runs in the seventh to edge the Lady Wolverines, 4-3.  Eberlin, who went 6-for-9 on the day, had three hits.   Hable, 5-for-7 in the doubleheader, had two hits as did Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls), who finished 4-for-7 in the pair.  LeVake took the loss, allowing nine hits and striking out five.
