GCC wins home opener in
three
GROVE CITY, PA, September 12, 2000--The Lady Wolverine volleyball team evened
its record at 3-3 Tuesday with a three-game sweep over visiting Geneva, 15-11,
15-11, 15-10. Geneva, who beat Grove City in four games a year ago, fell
to 1-6.
Sophomore Katie Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian) made the most of her return from an ankle injury with 13 kills, 18 digs and three blocks. Juniors Sarah Gardner (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) and Julie Porter (Medina, OH/Highland) recorded 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Porter added a team-high 23 digs, while sophomore Cara Denniston (Grove City, PA/Grove City) contributed 41 assists.
Junior Lindsey Setting (Monaca, PA/Center) posted 21 assists and three aces for Geneva.
