Grove City splits at John Carroll Tournament

CLEVELAND -- For the second straight day, the Grove City College women's volleyball team went 1-1 at the John Carroll Tournament. The Lady Wolverines (5-5) fell 3-0 to Denison, 30-22, 30-27 and 30-21 but rebounded for a 3-2 win over Case Western Reserve. Grove City won by scores of 30-22, 30-23, 19-30, 26-30 and 15-10.

Against Denison, senior Katie Summers (Staunton, Va./Grace Christian) posted 10 kills and six blocks while Cara Denniston (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) talled 26 assists. Mindy Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville Griffith Institute) and Kirsten Pedersen (Santa Rosa, Calif./Montgomery) both had 16 digs. Heather Hayden (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) served four aces.

In the five-game win over CWRU, Summers collected 15 kills and 26 digs while Pedersen had 13 kills and 26 digs. Denniston gave out 37 assists while Hayden and Bodi had five and four blocks, respectively.
