Hiram spoils Lady Wolverines' home opener
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Visiting Hiram secured a 30-19, 30-18, 30-25 victory over the Grove City College volleyball team Wednesday night in the Lady Wolverines' 2003 home opener at the Grove City College Arena.
Freshman Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/St. John and Paul) recorded seven kills and five blocks for Grove City while freshman Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) and senior Lisa Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith Institute) each had six kills.
Sophomore Robbie Long (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) delivered 21 assists while junior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) had a dozen digs. Bodi and senior Renee Allen (Verona, Pa./Penn Hills) each had 11 digs.
Grove City (3-2) will play Kalamazoo and John Carroll in the Baldwin-Wallace Marcia French Memorial Volleyball Tournament Friday evening. Hiram improved to 3-2.
