Wooster slips past Grove City in five games

WOOSTER, Ohio -- Host Wooster rallied from a 2-1 deficit to down Grove City in non-conference volleyball action Thursday night at Timken Gymnasium. The Scots (8-8) pulled out a 30-22, 18-30, 32-34, 33-31, 15-11 victory over Grove City in the Lady Wolverines' final encounter before the start of Presidents' Athletic Conference play next week.

Junior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) led Grove City (4-12) with 15 kills and 30 digs while senior Lisa Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith Institute) and junior Rachel Peterson (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett) each had nine kills.

Sophomore setter Carly Denniston (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) had 42 assists while freshman Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) recorded seven blocks.

Grove City opens PAC play at home Wednesday against Waynesburg.
