Thiel rallies past Grove City in five games
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Grove City captured the first two games but could not hold off a comeback effort by host Thiel as Thiel pulled out a 27-30, 28-30, 30-27, 31-29, 16-14 victory over the Lady Wolverines in Presidents' Athletic Conference volleyball action Thursday night at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.
Senior Lisa Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith Institute) and freshman Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) each had 19 kills for Grove City (6-15, 1-2 PAC). Sophomore setter Carly Denniston (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) gave out 54 assists and collected 15 digs while junior Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian) added 14 digs.
Freshman Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) collected a dozen blocks.
Grove City returns to action next Tuesday for a 7:15 p.m. match at Westminster.
