Slippery Rock defeats Grove City, 3-1
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to NCAA Division II Slippery Rock at SRU's Morrow Field House Thursday night 30-26, 30-20, 25-30, 30-23.
Freshman Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) paced Grove City (6-17) with 16 kills and three blocks while junior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) had nine kills.
Sophomore setter Carly Denniston (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) dished out 38 assists while junior Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian Academy) tallied 30 digs. Senior Lisa Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith Institute) added 22 digs.
Grove City visits Washington and Jefferson for a pair of matches Saturday. Grove City will play Washington and Jefferson at 11 a.m., then play Penn State Behrend at 1 p.m.
