Season ends with 3-2 loss to Thiel in quarterfinals
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Fifth-seeded Thiel eliminated the fourth-seeded Grove City College volleyball team from the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament Friday night with a 19-30, 30-27, 28-30, 30-25, 15-12 win at Waynesburg College's Rudy Marisa Field House.
Grove City finishes the season 9-22.
Senior Lisa Bodi (Springville, N.Y./Springville-Griffith Institute) led Grove City with 22 kills and 22 digs in her final collegiate match while sophomore setter Carly Denniston (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) tallied 45 assists.
Also for Grove City, junior Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian Academy) racked up 24 digs and freshman Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) had eight blocks. Junior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) served five aces.
Thiel advances to play top-seeded Waynesburg in Saturday's semifinals.
