Purple Raiders sweep Grove City
ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 3-2 Tuesday night with a 30-16, 30-21, 30-26 loss at Mount Union College.
Sophomore Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) led Grove City with 12 kills and three blocks while classmate Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) added six kills. Sophomore setter Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa./Penn Hills) distributed 21 assists.
Senior Rachel Peterson (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett) racked up 21 digs while senior Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian Academy) added a dozen digs.
Grove City hosts Lake Erie Friday night at 7 p.m. in the 2004 season opener.
