Slippery Rock slips past Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 12-14 overall Thursday night with a 30-27, 30-25, 30-28 loss to NCAA Division II Slippery Rock (18-14) in non-conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Sophomore Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) led Grove City with 13 kills while classmate Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) added nine kills. Senior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley) contributed eight kills and 14 digs.

Freshman setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 35 assists while senior Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian) recorded a team-high 16 digs. Sophomore Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) added a dozen digs.

Grove City hosts Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Washington and Jefferson Saturday at 12 p.m.
