Wolverines topple Prexies on Senior Day

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team rallied for a 30-19, 26-30, 20-30, 30-14, 15-13 victory over Presidents' Athletic Conference nemesis Washington and Jefferson Saturday afternoon in the Grove City College Arena on Senior Day.

Sophomore Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) helped lead Grove City (13-14, 6-3 PAC) with 15 kills and 13 blocks while classmate Kelly Tinney (Ashtabula, Ohio/Sts. John and Paul) had a team-high 17 kills. Roberts' 13 blocks are tied for the third most in one match in Grove City history.

Senior Kate DiMarco (Slate Hill, N.Y./Minisink Valley), playing her final home match, added 12 kills and 14 digs. Also for Grove City, freshman setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) gave out 49 assists and added 14 digs. Senior Rachel Peterson (Bartlett, Tenn./Bartlett) posted a team-high 18 digs.

Sophomore Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) chipped in 14 digs and served two aces while sophomore Allison Cummings (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) had seven blocks.

DiMarco, Melissa Lawton (High Point, N.C./Wesley Christian) and Peterson were honored prior to the match as part of Senior Day

Grove City visits Westminster Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the regular season and conference finale.
