Mount Union nips Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 3-2 Tuesday night with a 25-30, 31-29, 19-30, 30-25, 15-4 loss to visiting Mount Union (4-2) at the Grove City College Arena.

Sophomore Jennifer Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) registered a career-high 14 kills in the match while classmate Katie Skinner (Bay Village, Ohio/Christian Community) collected 13 kills. Junior middle hitter Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City), this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week, added 11 kills.

Sophomore setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 45 assists. Sophomore Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) recorded 15 digs while Plyler added a dozen digs. Roberts tallied a season-high eight blocks.

Grove City will open PAC action Saturday afternoon at new conference member Thomas More at 1 p.m. in Crestview Hills, Ky. The Wolverines will then play Wilmington College (Ohio) in a non-conference match at 3 p.m.
