Wolverines fall twice at Bishop Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 6-8 Friday night with a pair of setbacks at the Ohio Wesleyan University Bishop Invitational.

Grove City opened pool play with a 33-31, 25-30, 30-19, 30-23 loss to Hanover. Grove City closed action Friday night by falling to Capital, 30-25, 30-24, 30-17.

Freshman Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) posted a career-high 17 kills against Hanover while junior Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) added 16 kills and four blocks.

Sophomore setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 50 assists while junior libero Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) tallied 30 digs. Sophomore Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) had 19 digs.

Roberts had 13 kills and eight blocks against Capital while Liberati added eight kills. Walsh recorded 27 assists while Rossol had 17 digs. Sophomore Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) chipped in nine digs.

Grove City will play Denison Saturday afternoon at 11:30 a.m. in pool play.
