Grove City takes 3rd at Ohio Wesleyan Tournament

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team placed third at Ohio Wesleyan University's Bishop Invitational Saturday afternoon by earning a pair of 3-0 victories. The Wolverines (3-1 overall) closed pool play with a 30-17, 30-13, 30-20 win over Lake Erie. Grove City then swept Bethany in the third place match, 30-13, 30-24, 30-24.

Against Lake Erie, junior Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) led Grove City with a dozen kills. Junior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 34 assists while senior libero Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) had nine digs.

Fraiz posted 11 kills and four aces against Bethany while senior Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) added 10 kills and seven blocks. Walsh distributed 35 assists while Rossol posted a team-high 17 digs.

It is the second consecutive year that Grove City has started 3-1. The Wolverines will return to action Wednesday night at Saint Vincent in a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
