Wolverines win twice at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team earned a pair of victories at the Westminster College Invitational Friday evening at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Grove City (6-2) swept Lake Erie, 30-24, 30-27, 30-11 in its opening match. The Wolverines then earned a 30-13, 30-17, 30-15 win over Pitt-Greensburg in their second match of pool play.

Junior Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) tallied a team-high 11 kills against Lake Erie while junior Katie Skinner (Bay Village, Ohio/Christian Community) added 10 kills. Junior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 31 assists. Senior Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) posted 13 digs while Walsh had 10 digs.

Fraiz posted an 11-kill, 14-dig effort against Pitt-Greensburg while sophomore Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) added 10 kills and a match-high six blocks. Walsh recorded 38 assists while Rossol posted 15 digs. Junior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) contributed 13 digs.

Grove City will face Penn State Behrend at 11 a.m. Saturday in pool play.
