Wolverines sweep Bethany

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday night with a 30-18, 30-13, 30-21 sweep of visiting Bethany in the Grove City College Arena.

Three Grove City players posted double-digit kill efforts in the win. Junior Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) led Grove City with 14 kills while sophomore Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) recorded 12 kills. Junior Katie Skinner (Bay Village, Ohio/Christian Community) added 10 kills.

Junior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) dished out a season-high 41 assists. Defensively, senior Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) tallied 23 digs while senior Allison Cummings (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) had three blocks.

It is Grove City's second win over the Bison (3-7, 0-2 PAC) this season. Grove City swept Bethany at the season-opening Ohio Wesleyan Bishop Invitational Sept. 2.

Grove City will compete in the York (Pa.) College Spartan Best Western INNVitational Friday night and Saturday.
