Grove City sweeps pair, improves to 15-6

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team is now 15-6 overall after earning a pair of non-conference wins Saturday at the Grove City College Arena. The Wolverines opened Saturday's doubleheader with a 30-16, 30-20, 30-19 win over Pitt-Greensburg. Grove City then picked up a 30-23, 30-13, 30-19 victory over Lake Erie Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) recorded 12 kills for the Wolverines against Pitt-Greensburg while junior Kate Skinner (Bay Village, Ohio/Christian Community) added 11 kills. Junior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 48 assists in the sweep.

Defensively, senior libero Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) had 15 digs while junior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) recorded nine digs. Liberati had three blocks.

Junior Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) posted a match-high 13 kills in Grove City's 3-0 win over Lake Erie. Senior Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) added 11 kills while Liberati chipped in with 10 kills. Walsh had 38 assists while Roberts also served four aces.

Rossol paced Grove City defensively with 14 digs while Fraiz had a dozen digs. Sophomore Meghan Glenn (Clarion, Pa./Clarion) added 10 digs.

Grove City will visit Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Waynesburg Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
