Wolverines earn 17th victory of 2006

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team earned its second Presidents' Athletic Conference road win in as many nights Friday night as the Wolverines earned a 30-24, 29-31, 30-26, 30-22 victory over host Thiel at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.

Junior Heather Fraiz (Carmel, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit) led Grove City (17-7, 6-2 PAC) with 15 kills while senior Carlie Roberts (Union City, Pa./Union City) contributed 14 kills. Junior Kate Skinner (Bay Village, Ohio/Christian Community) added 13 kills.

Junior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 58 assists. Senior Emily Rossol (Waterville, Ohio/Toledo Christian) led Grove City with 22 digs while Fraiz recorded 21 digs. Roberts posted a match-high five blocks.

Grove City's 17-7 record is its best after 24 matches since the 1996 team won 17 of its first 24 en route to a 22-10 season.

The Wolverines host Saint Vincent Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
