Wolverines 2-0 in PAC

WAYNEBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon by sweeping a tri-match with PAC foes Waynesburg and Bethany at Waynesburg's Rudy Marisa Field House. Grove City (10-1) opened play with a 31-29, 29-31, 30-25, 30-25 victory over host Waynesburg. Grove City then swept Bethany, 30-18, 30-19, 30-28.

Senior Jennifer Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) recorded a team-high 21 kills against Waynesburg while junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) contributed 15 kills. Senior Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) posted a dozen kills against Waynesburg while senior Kate Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) added 10 kills.

Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) set a new Grove City four-game record with 69 assists. Walsh held the previous record of 66, set earlier this season.

Defensively, senior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) recorded 34 digs while Skinner added 29 digs. Walsh had 17 digs while Liberati and freshman Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) both tallied 10 digs. Liberati also had four blocks.

Liberati's dozen kills led Grove City against Bethany. Skinner added nine kills while Walsh dished out 35 assists. Plyler posted 23 digs while Mincey added 15 digs. Liberati also had a team-high three blocks.

Grove City will visit Penn State Behrend Tuesday night in non-conference action.
