Wolverines now 14-4

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team went 1-2 at the Franklin & Marshall Scramble Saturday in non-conference play. Grove City (14-4) opened Saturday's tripleheader with a 30-28, 30-28, 30-24 setback against Moravian. The Wolverines then dropped a five-game decision to Richard Stockton, 30-23, 26-30, 30-23, 24-30, 15-11.

However, Grove City rebounded for a five-game victory over host Franklin & Marshall in Saturday's nightcap as Grove City rallied for a 26-30, 30-28, 29-31, 30-28, 18-16 victory over the Diplomats.

Junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) earned All-Tournament honors after leading Grove City in kills in each of the Wolverines' three matches. Against Moravian, Liberati posted 11 kills while senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 31 assists.

Defensively, senior Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) posted four blocks while senior libero Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) tallied 25 digs.

Liberati registered 17 kills against Richard Stockton with seniors Jen Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) and Kate Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) each posting a dozen kills. Walsh had 54 assists while Plyler and Mincey each had 26 digs.

Grove City rallied from a 2-1 deficit to down host Franklin & Marshall in Saturday's third match. Liberati paced Grove City with 17 kills and seven blocks while Plyler contributed 11 kills, four aces and a team-high 30 digs. Walsh distributed 50 assists.

The Wolverines will visit Saint Vincent Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
