Wolverines roll past W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 15-5 overall and 5-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Thursday night with a 30-18, 27-30, 33-31, 30-20 victory over host Washington & Jefferson in a PAC match at the Henry Memorial Center.

Junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led Grove City with a match-high 18 kills while senior Kate Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) added 17 kills. Senior Jennifer Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) recorded 10 kills. Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 49 assists.

Defensively, Walsh also had 15 digs. Plyler paced Grove City on defense with 35 digs while freshman Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) recorded 24 digs. Liberati also had six blocks.

Grove City has now won three straight regular-season matchups with W&J. The teams will play again October 16 in Grove City.

The Wolverines return to action next Thursday against visiting Chatham at 7:30 p.m.
