Grove City blanks Chatham

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 6-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Thursday night with a 30-6, 30-9, 30-13 victory over visiting Chatham (1-18, 0-9) in a PAC match at the Grove City College Arena.

Junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park), freshman Jodi Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and freshman Erika Doane (Sheffield Village, Ohio/Christian Community) all recorded eight kills for Grove City. Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) tallied 40 assists.

Liberati also served five aces. Walsh, freshman Becky Chapa (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) and sophomore Sara Quillen (Staunton, Va./Grace Christian) all served three aces each. Defensively, junior Emily Martin (Mill Creek, Wash./King's Academy) led Grove City with 13 digs while Barry added 11 digs. Liberati had three blocks.

Grove City returns to action Saturday afternoon as the Wolverines (16-5 overall) visit Westminster for a PAC tri-match. Grove City will play Westminster at 4 p.m. The Wolverines will then face Geneva at 6 p.m.
