Grove City falls at home

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 16-8 overall and 6-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday night with a 3-2 home loss to Washington & Jefferson (14-7, 5-4) in a PAC match at the Grove City College Arena. Grove City won the first two games, 30-27 and 30-22, but W&J rallied to take the final three games, 30-27, 30-22, 15-11.

Senior Jen Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) led Grove City with 14 kills while junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and senior Kate Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) both recorded 13 kills. Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) tallied 49 assists.

Plyler also led Grove City defensively with 26 digs. Freshman libero Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) had 24 digs while senior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) contributed 21 digs. Senior Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) posted six blocks.

Budd also served a season-high three aces.

Grove City returns to action Thursday night at PAC foe Thiel at 7 p.m.
