Wolverines pull out 3-2 win at Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team snapped a three-match slide Thursday night by pulling out a 3-2 victory over host Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia. Grove City (17-8, 7-3) secured a 30-23, 19-30, 30-14, 28-30, 15-11 victory. The victory gives Grove City a regular-season sweep of Thiel.

Junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led Grove City with 20 kills while senior Jen Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) contributed 13 kills. Senior Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) posted 12 kills while sophomore Sara Quillen (Staunton, Va./Grace Christian) added 10 kills. Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) distributed 62 assists.

Defensively, Plyler recorded 37 digs while senior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) had 17 digs. Junior Meghan Glenn (Clarion, Pa./Clarion) collected 15 digs while freshman Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) had 13 digs.

Grove City will host Westminster Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. in PAC action. The match is also "Volley for the Cure," which will raise awareness about breast cancer in conjunction with the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
