Geneva tops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team fell to 18-11 overall Saturday night with a 30-26, 26-30, 30-19, 30-22 loss to visiting Geneva in a matchup of Presidents' Athletic Conference members in the Grove City College Arena.

Four Grove City players recorded double-digit kill totals Saturday night. Junior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) recorded 11 kills while seniors Brittany Anderson (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls), Jen Plyler (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) and Kate Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) all added 10 kills each.

Senior setter Kim Walsh (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) recorded 44 assists. She now has 4,270 career assists and needs just 19 to pass Cara Denniston (1999-2002) as Grove City's all-time assist leader.

Defensively, senior Brooke Mincey (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) had 28 digs while Skinner added 17 digs. Plyler contributed 13 digs. Anderson led Grove City with seven blocks while sophomore Sara Quillen (Staunton, Va./Grace Christian) added four blocks.

Grove City honored Anderson, Mincey, Plyler, Skinner and Walsh prior to Saturday night's match as part of Senior Night festivities. The Wolverines will play one more home match this year -- a PAC Championship Tournament quarterfinal Tuesday night against No. 6 seed Thiel. Grove City has clinched the third seed with an 8-5 conference record.

Monday night, Grove City will wrap up the regular season at PAC foe Bethany.
