Another split for Grove City

DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Grove City College volleyball team is now 3-3 after going 1-1 Friday night at Ohio Wesleyan University's Bishop Invitational. The Wolverines opened Friday's action with a 25-19, 25-13, 25-17 setback against Transylvania. Grove City rebounded in the nightcap, though, and secured a 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22 victory over Otterbein.

Sophomores Jodi Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and Becky Chapa (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) each collected 10 kills in the victory over Otterbein. Freshman Annie Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) distributed 32 assists.

Sophomore Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) led Grove City on defense with 25 digs while Jodi Barry and Chapa both had 24 digs. Senior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) recorded three blocks.

Liberati led Grove City with eight kills in Friday's opener while Annie Barry tallied 16 assists. Budd recorded eight digs.

Grove City will face Defiance at 11 a.m. Saturday before concluding the weekend with a match against Ohio Wesleyan at 3:00 p.m. The tournament matchups are pre-determined.
