Wolverines fall to Saint Vincent
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21 decision to visiting Saint Vincent Tuesday night in the Grove City College Arena.
Sophomores Jodi Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) and Becky Chapa (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) each recorded 10 kills for Grove City (5-9) while sophomore Inge Rasmussen (Darnestown, Md./Poolesville) added nine kills. Freshman setter Annie Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) distributed 32 assists.
Freshman Mary Masincup (Churchville, Va./Grace Christian) paced Grove City defensively with 18 digs. Annie Barry added 17 digs while Chapa posted 16 digs. Jodi Barry racked up five blocks while Rasmussen had three. Grove City played five sophomores and two freshmen in the match.
Grove City will host a Presidents' Athletic Conference tri-match Saturday. The Wolverines face Washington & Jefferson at 11 a.m. and then play Waynesburg at 3 p.m. Waynesburg will play W&J at 1 p.m.
