Grove City drops two

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team is 5-11 after dropping a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference matches at home Saturday in the Grove City College Arena. The Wolverines dropped a 25-20, 25-23, 25-27, 25-21 decision to Waynesburg in their first match of the day. Grove City then closed the day with a 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 25-19 setback against Washington & Jefferson.

Senior Natalie Liberati (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) recorded 18 kills against Waynesburg while sophomore Inge Rasmussen (Darnestown, Md./Poolesville) added a dozen kills. Sophomore Jodi Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) posted 10 kills. Freshman setter Annie Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) collected 45 assists.

Defensively, sophomore libero Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) tallied 22 digs while sophomore Becky Chapa (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) finished with 15 digs. Liberati had three blocks.

Chapa paced Grove City with a dozen kills against W&J while Liberati added 11 kills. Jodi Barry recorded 10 kills and served two aces. Annie Barry tallied 41 assists.

Budd led the Wolverines with 17 digs while Rasmussen had 11 digs and three blocks.

Grove City will visit Thiel Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in PAC action.
