Wolverines split tri-match

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team is 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference after splitting a home PAC tri-match Saturday afternoon in the Grove City College Arena. The Wolverines earned a 25-20, 25-15, 25-20 win over Waynesburg in Saturday's opener. However, Grove City fell to Thiel in the nightcap, 25-20, 25-15, 25-22.

Two Grove City players posted double-digit kill totals in the win over Waynesburg. Sophomore Anna McCurdy (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) recorded 16 kills in the win while junior Inge Rasmussen (Darnestown, Md./Poolesville) added 15 kills. Sophomore setter Annie Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) tallied 39 assists.

Rasmussen paced Grove City's defense with 21 digs while Barry chalked up 19 digs. Junior libero Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) recorded 16 digs.

Against Thiel, McCurdy totaled eight kills while freshman Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) had seven kills. Barry had 25 assists.

Budd picked up 16 digs while junior Jodi Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) collected four blocks. McCurdy had three rejections.

Grove City will visit Penn State Behrend Wednesday night in non-conference action.
