Grove City falls at Westminster
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team dropped a 25-13, 25-20, 25-11 decision to host Westminster Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the 2009 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Memorial Field House. Third-seeded Westminster will play in the PAC semifinals Friday night at Thomas More while No. 6 Grove City finishes the season with an 8-24 overall record.
Freshman Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) led Grove City with nine kills while sophomore Mary Masincup (Churchville, Va./Grace Christian) added five kills. Sophomore setter Annie Barry (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) recorded 23 assists.
Defensively, junior Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) tallied 18 digs and sophomore Anna McCurdy (Guys Mills, Pa./Maplewood) posted three blocks.
