Wolverines now 3-3

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team improved to 3-3 overall Friday night with a 25-14, 25-18, 25-18 sweep of D'Youville in the opening night of action in the Penn State Behrend Invitational at the Junker Center.

Freshman Ashley Branch (Colorado Springs, Colo./Evangelical Christian) posted 14 kills to pace Grove City while sophomore Elisabeth Willits (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) added eight kills. Freshman setter Casey Schmidt (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) recorded 16 assists and classmate Marie LaBossiere (Saunderstown, R.I./Prout) added a dozen assists.

Defensively, senior Kim Budd (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) recorded 24 digs. Freshman Tara Skinner (Avon Lake, Ohio/Christian Community) chalked up nine digs.

Grove City will face Carnegie Mellon Saturday at 12 p.m. The Wolverines will then meet Penn State Behrend at 3 p.m.
